The scope of your literature review is binary. Part 1 will provide a broad, general overview of the problem or issue you are researching that should include a short history of the subject matter you are researching and related literature. Part two shall focus on the specific – narrowly defined issues that forms the basis for your paper. The literature for this section should be the most current, directly on point, and should ideally exhibit a fluid transition from part 1 to part 2. Both parts should provide context in terms of the scope of the issues, problems, or organization you are researching in summary form.
