Step 1: Once your Interview Subject is confirmed, contact the person to get some basic biographical information and to have the subject sign the consent form as soon as possible (this week).
Time Period, Place, Themes:
1. Firstly, When and where did your subject’s parents meet?
2. Secondly, When and where was your subject born?
3. Thirdly, Can your subject identify any relevant historical details: laws or policies that impacted them?
4. Also, What themes around mixed race would your subject like to discuss?
Step 2: Additional Research: Now you must do some of your own research. Do a key word search in Google and in the Library website search box and skim/read what you find. Use reputable websites or scholarly research.
Firstly, explore specific themes/issues that come to mind. For example, Mixed Race Asian adoptees, or liberalizing attitudes towards Mixed Race after the 1967 Loving v. Virginia ruling, etc.
Secondly, any relation to colonialism, imperialism, war, slavery, etc.
Thirdly, significant historical events, laws, policies.
Fourthly, experiences significant to specific ethnic groups and time periods.
Lastly, significant theories of race, racism, and mixed race.

You may also use the texts from class to research your subject. A summary of your Subject and your research findings is due in Group Discussion Forum: Post a 200 to 250-word summary of your findings by Sunday April 26 end of day. Your research will constitute 30% of your Final Project grade.
