O‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍bstacles of Faith

The entire book of Hebrews uses several analogies to describe the spiritual journey. The journey that is taken by the people of God. Whether the author uses Israel’s journey to the Promised Land, the growth of a child to adulthood, or the running of a race. Also, the analogies all describe the process of following God to a designated destination. The author uses these illustrations to motivate the readers to persevere through life’s challenges in order to achieve the intended spiritual results. The subject of the first paper deals with the obstacles of faith that a man or woman will encounter along their journey. To write this paper, read through the epistle of Hebrews and write down all the things that the author warns the readers about that could hinder or ‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍jeopardize the success of their journey.

An example of this would be in chapter 2:1-3 where the author warns them to not neglect the things which they have heard. Inattentiveness or laziness of hearing can have a negative effect on the spiritual life of a person. To avoid this pitfall, the reader must put extra effort into listening to what God has said to them. Make a list of all the obstacles that you locate in the epistle. State what the obstacle is. Describe the context of the text where the obstacle is found. State also the remedy that the author gives in order to avoid the pitfalls of the obstacle. The purpose of the paper is to provide a survival guide of faith from the book. Its intention is to be for personal benefit as well as for counseling purp‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍oses.
