In Canada, we have followed a European model in dealing with drug addiction. More specifically – Vancouver British Colombia (Canada) area has adopted the Four Pillars Program https://vancouver.ca/people-programs/four-pillars-drug-strategy.aspx.

This controversial approach has presented Harm Reduction with all of its elements. Discuss what this model is, its effectiveness and your position on this. Include a discussion on such elements as: needle exchange, safe injection sites, wet houses, decriminalization and legalization of marijuana.
Your paper must follow APA style. 12 pages of content, Minimal 8 references

Grading criteria include:
1. Firstly, Accuracy and thoroughness of research and thought.
2. Secondly, Clarity and organization of the topic.
3. Thirdly, Application of the Psychological theory/ Spiritual dynamic to the topic.
4. Fourthly, Mechanics: APA style

My Views- 4 Pillars
FIRSTLY, Harm reduction.

SECONDLY, Prevention.

THIRDLY, Treatment.

FOURTHLY, Enforcement.

Although not in favour of these measures, definitely see the benefit of these prog. In way picking a lesser evil option.
Dramatic reduction in the number of drug users consuming drugs on the street.

ADDITIONALLY, Significant drop in overdose deaths.

ALSO, Reduction in the infection rates for HIV and hepatitis.
Needle exchange, safe injection sites, wet houses, decriminalization and;

LASTLY, Legalization of marijuana- I am in favour of Of Medicinal Cannabis- but not recreational due to its harms.
